I graduated college in 2006 and after volunteering and traveling for a year I started working in investor relations and marketing in finance, specifically for hedge funds. In 2010 I adopted my dog Phoebe and couldn’t find a dog walking business that met my needs. I wasn’t fulfilled in finance and felt like I could use my expertise to start a better dog walking business, so in 2011 I quit my job and started Dog Walk NYC with less than $1,000 and a very basic business plan. Everyone thought I was making a huge mistake which made me even more determined to succeed. Within one year of starting my business I had two people working for me and tripled my business. Over the course of nine years I expanded my business to a second location which I sold for a profit in 2019. In March 2020 when I made the decision to officially close our doors, I had 7 people working for me. In the last year of business, revenues grew almost 30%.

Since 2017 I have also been hired as a marketing & business consultant for multiple companies. My expertise is in marketing, social media, branding, management & business planning.

I also run a Business 101 course on Rikers Island where we teach students (inmates) the basics of starting their own business. We cover everything from business planning, to funding, to marketing, to legal structure.

In my free time I love to read, I adore memoirs and almost every genre of fiction. I enjoy cooking, traveling & taking photographs I think are a lot better than they are! Most of all I love spending time with my children, husband and huge family, as the youngest of 13 kids I wouldn’t be me without them!
